The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Martinez is hugely promising. Like previous vintages here, the Martinez exudes textural richness, but the 2016 has a level of silkiness in the tannins that complement all of that intensity nicely. Lush, powerful and also dynamic, the 2016 is also clearly the best of the three vintages I tasted.

From the oldest block of the Martinez Vineyard, Clone 7. This wine has aged for 26 months in 100% new French oak. Typical of the Pritchard Hill area, this wine has layers, texture and body. The old vines ripened perfectly. Deep earthy character complemented with aromatics of black current, blackberries and hints of vanilla and cedar.
