Sweet red cherry, hard candy, mint, spice, rose petal and wild flowers give the 2017 striking inner perfume. While this boisterous Pinot offers tons of depth, the floral, saline signatures of the Sonoma Coast are never too far away.
2017 Empreinte Coast Platt Pinot Noir
Julien is no stranger to the Sonoma Coast as he is an avid surfer. Yet this is his first Pinot Noir. Located near Bodega Bay just one mile from the Pacific Ocean, the Platt Vineyard is distinguished by its proximity to the sea. Stylistically different from the Cabernet Sauvignons that have defined Julien’s career, this wine is pure fruit, possesses a briney characteristic from the ocean’s influence and is low alcohol as a result of the cooler coastal climate and slow ripening of the fruit.
