The Sleeping Lady Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon springs from an ancient riverbed site in what is now the Yountville benchlands. The 2019 delivers sleek, full fruit with lovely aromatics and beguiling freshness. Blue fruit and loamy earth aromas are lifted by pretty floral and pepper notes on the nose. The focused palate beams with blue and purple fruit, melding ripe boysenberry and Damson plum with an ever-changing progression of mocha, sassafras root, and baking spice across the slate minerality beneath. Ultra-fine tannins support the fruit with sleekly elegant texture, sustaining an extended finish of ripe blackberry, blueberry and kola nut.
