The McGah Family Vineyard on the east side of the Rutherford AVA pampers vines with well-draining gravelly loam soils, plenty of daytime heat, and reliably cool nights to retain fresh acidity at optimal sugar levels. Ripe and tropical with dynamic energy and verve, the 2019 McGah Sauvignon Blanc is fresh and luscious in equal measure. Fresh guava, peach, honeysuckle, and a hint of wintermint infuse the coconut cream aromas on the nose. The palate shines with juicy passionfruit and nectarine lifted by lime zest and fresh mandarin, while stony minerality provides a cooling foundation for the bright and exuberant fruit. Sleek and tender, the wine slips easily into a long and fragrant finish of tart apple, sweet citrus, and ripe charentais melon.
