Julien’s 2022 Martinez Vineyard Cabernet showcases the incredible intensity of this high-elevation Pritchard Hill site with wonderful fruit density and exquisite natural balance. The brooding nose offers crushed blackberries, cedar, buttery toasted brioche, and Martinez’s signature black volcanic rock aromas. Bold, rich black fruits surge on the palate with sleek sucrosity, bringing waves of plum and blackberry spiked with cloves, dried bay leaf, raisins and chocolate. Mineral-scented tannins provide firm, finely calibrated support through the long finish, which blooms with notes of dried plum, dark chocolate, bright red fruit freshness, and a final whisper of graphite.
